ABOUT

Hello! My name is Kayleigh, and I'm the face of Kookiwood, a vintage furniture studio nestled in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside. We specialise in creating one-of-a-kind, eye-catching statement pieces that instantly bring style and individuality to your home.

Our story began in 2019 when we realised how challenging it can be to furnish a home on a budget without settling for average or cheaply made furniture that falls apart in less than a year, like a house of cards. But we refused to settle for mediocrity and instead experimented with refinishing second hand pieces with a creative twist! My first piece was a G Plan chest of drawers, which remains a beloved fixture in our bedroom to this day! Ever since then, I've been addicted to the art of furniture refinishing! In November 2020, I made the bold decision to leave my 8-year career in the Royal Air Force and pursue my passion for upcycling full-time!

My expertise lies in creating Cocktail Cabinets with an Art-Deco influence, and I have a passion for repurposing unsuspecting and obsolete items into magnificent drinks cabinets! I take great pride in creating pieces of furniture that are timeless and distinct, expressing an individual style that sets it apart from passing trends.

I have a creative flare for design and a keen eye for detail which was noticed by none other than Holly Tucker MBE (founder of Not on The High Street) when Kookiwood was nominated for Best Newcomer in the Independent Awards 2020. Kookiwood emerged as one of the final five businesses out of a whopping 50,000 nominees.
